Jean is the Controller at DC Green Bank. Jean Nelson-Houpert is an accounting and finances professional with over 23 years of experience. She received her B.A. in accounting from Temple University and her Master of Jurisprudence from Tulane University. Jean started her professional career with Grant Thornton LLP, in their Financial Services Division, auditing financial institutions. Jean transitioned to private banking over the last 12 years in various positions as Quality Controller Officer, Controller, Accounting Director, SEC Reporting Manager, and Chief Financial Officer at various publicly traded financial institutions. In 2013, Jean relocated to Florida and joined forces with her cousin to start a new venture importing dates from Saudi Arabia. In 2015, she moved back to Northern Virginia, where she divested the business and went back into banking. She is still residing in Northern, Virginia with her husband and 13-year-old daughter and enjoys her downtime playing tennis, running, the WD&O trail, and reading.
